The city of Arts and Science


The City of Arts and Sciences located at the end of the old Turia riverbed, the channel that became a garden in 1980, following the hijacking of the river by the great flood of Valencia in 1957. The City of Arts and Sciences is a unique collection dedicated to the scientific and cultural dissemination, which is composed of five elements:

The hemisferic shaped eye. It is an IMAX cinema, planetarium and laser. It has an approximate area of 13,000 square meters.
The Science Museum Príncipe Felipe: shaped like the skeleton of a dinosaur, is an interactive science museum. The space is invested in 40,000 square feet spread over three floors.

L’Umbracle: drive landscaped with native plant species covered by Valencia floating arches where you can see the whole complex of the City of Arts and Sciences. Inside houses, the walk of Sculptures, an art gallery outdoor sculptures by contemporary composers.

The Ocean is the largest oceanographic aquarium in Europe with 110,000 square meters, 42 million liters of water and more than 500 marine species. Possibly the most visited in the given area attractions.

Queen Sofia´s art palace with four large rooms: a main hall, Aula Magistral, Amphitheatre and Theatre House. Exhibition hall dedicated to the music and the performing arts.
